European Cultural Capital 2016

Consequently, it became an exclusive destination frequented by numerous European aristocrats, who commissioned some of the city's most beautiful buildings, including the Gran Casino (today home to the City Council), the Palacio de Miramar, summer residence of the Court, and the bridges over the Urumea.
